Our Herds
American Aberdeen Cattle:
The American Aberdeen (or Lowline) breed began in Australia in 1929 to “provide quality beef breeding stock for the New South Wales industry.” Its development stems from the Angus breed, which originated in the Scotland counties of Angus and Aberdeen. The breed is approximately 30% smaller than the commercial Angus, giving some characteristics that we find very appealing! Aside from their docile nature and efficiency on grass, we love the fact that they have an “exceptional ribeye area per hundred pounds of body weight which translates to very high yielding, high quality, high value beef carcasses.”
